Seasons Greetings

I have always felt that it seems like a long time between the August bank holiday and Christmas.  At Online50 we are all looking forward to a break and we'd like to wish all of you the very best for the holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

Our modern calendar starts with the month of January — named after the Roman God Janus.  Janus was the god of beginnings and transitions, and therefore also of endings, doors, gates and time.  He is traditionally depicted as having two faces, one looking forwards and one backwards, and it is no surprise that for many of us January is a time to reflect.  We have therefore included a brief reflection on the past year, and a 'sneak peak' and things to come.

Reflections on 2011

Reflections on 2011

As we reflect back on the calendar year 2011, here are some of our highlights:

  • Our 10th birthday (the Online50 service first piloted in 2001).
  • Yet another year where we have not had to make a price increase.
  • Support for iPads introduced.
  • Changes to the login process that has greatly reduced the amount of configuration required by first time users.
  • Introduction of a 'Welcome Call' to hand-hold new users as they get to grips with the service, which has been well received.
  • The number of support calls has dropped significantly due in part to a number of ground breaking innovations by our technical team.
  • We purchased 60 new enterprise grade servers as part of our upgrade and expansion programme.
  • New software available for integration with Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Upgrades of our ECP infrastructure have been completed with no downtime to users.
  • Continued upwards trend in user numbers.

Going forward into 2012, we have a number of initiatives we expect to deliver:

  • Further development of our support for new users, focussed on not only getting them up and running but also understanding the range of ways in which they could benefit from the services they have subscribed to.
  • Roll out of a new 'Portal' for Online50 and our partners streamlining the delivery of services to users.
  • Customer events to allow our partners and users to meet the Online50 team, provide valuable feedback to us and be briefed on the latest developments.
  • A website refresh — we hope to make our website more engaging and to provide additional useful information.
  • Completing the roll out of new underlying infrastructure to provide more performance and capacity.

Thank you for your continued interest in our services.  We look forward to working with you through 2012.
